A new Forza owner in Vancouver, Canada

Hello everyone. I picked up a new red Forza last Wednesday. It has been a little chilly here in Vancouver so I have only put 150 kms on it so far.

My first impressions are pretty well all good.
  • The engine is smooth (once off idle) and the power is delivered in a consistent manner. It pulls strongly up to 110 km/hr and possibly faster (I've not gone there yet).

The comfort/legroom was my main worry. When I sat on the scooter in the showroom, I put my feet so the toes touched the end of the flat area and it felt confining. However, when riding I find myself starting off and not even taking all the available room. I realize that I have another 6 inches and move the feet forward. I am 6' tall with a 34" inseam and I have 3 comfortable places to put my feet. Legroom is not an issue and I find the bike very comfortable.

The brakes feel very, very good. (Although my last two bikes are not known for their braking abilities, KLR and Moto Guzzi Stone, so I may have set a low bar).

It handles at speed like it is on rails while still being flickable. At walking speed and while moving it in the garage it feels much lighter than its weight.

The two negatives are that the rear suspension feels harsh over sharp bumps and while stopped at idle there is a sound coming from the rear that sounds like a loose part. (The Honda guys checked it out and found nothing amiss).
I am loving this ride and am very happy with the purchase.

Andy.

Congrats Andy,
I agree will all your comments. Rear shocks are not up to the rest of the bike.
But it is so much fuuuuuun.
I'm not sure of course, but it sounds like you are adjusting to the belt flap sound. After you get used to it, you never hear it again unless it changes.
Lucky you got to ride that much. Weather has been rough.

Hmmm, a belt slap. That could be the sound I am hearing. It kind of comes in waves and not every time. Thanks for that. Puts my mind at ease.

The toolkit rattles so mine got removed.
The licence plate also rattles as does the bar holding the rear orange reflectors.
Reflectors off and licence pate stuck down with double sided tape.
Sorted.
At a standstill it vibrates more with the rear brake on, possibly due to the dual pivot swingarm, so I use the front only to hold it when on a slope.

Forza for me.
Far better than either a Harley or a PCX.
