Illegal: We had 4 members of an under 14 boys soccer team from Kosice stay with us about 15 years ago prior to the USA cup, a youth soccer tournament. The team went on to win their age division. Are you from that area of Slovakia?

I am getting in more riding than I have since I got the bike because there are major protests happening in Bangkok which have blocked major intersections for the past three weeks. The result has been that there is minimal traffic by my place so it has been a lot easier getting around.

On another note, the protests have had violent outbursts and the city is on edge as election day is tomorrow. A large gun battle broke out about 5 hours ago and the election has been postponed in that part of the city. This sure isn't something I am used to.

Today was much less volatile that expected. The uncertainty is what is to come. The protest were originally supposed to run for 20 days, ending today which was election day. It doesn't look like the protests met their objective of preventing the election and forcing the prime minister to resign. But it doesn't look like the protesters have any plans to call it quits. Apparently there have been something like 13 coups in the last 30 or so years.

I live righ around the corner from a major protest site, but we are staying safe, avoiding crowds and will likely lay low to see how the next week unfolds.

Just raining again here in Yorkshire

Kind of stops this kind of nonsense.
