Hi everyone. I'm really happy I found this forum. I'm thinking of buying a PCX 150. I currently have three motorcycles for sale in Michigan. My wife says I can't buy the new scooter until I sell my motorcycles. I first got the idea on buying a scooter when I read about the Honda Forza 300 back in 2012. Now I feel it may be a bit to big and heavy for me. My wife loves to ride with me. It looks like the PCX 150 would be the perfect scooter for me. Much of the time my wife will be riding with me and it sounds like the PCX 150 will handle two up very well. Ride safe my friends.

Hi Bountybuddy, welcome! Have you tried riding both of them? The Forza feels surprisingly light, and would be highway capable. You'd be pushing it on the highway, especially 2-up, on the PCX 150.

Welcome! Maddie has a good point. I really like my PCX, particularly in the tight traffice of Bangkok, but if I lived Stateside I would definattely be looking at the Forza.

My thinking on the PCX 150 for both my wife and I is as follows. I would never ride the PCX 150 on the freeway. It would be rode on secondary roads. I like riding between 45 to 55 MPH. I do not enjoy riding fast and my wife doesn't either. The maximum weight for the PCX 150 is 180kg. The maximum weight for the Forxa 300 is 177kg. Hard to believe but the maximum weight is higher for the PCX 150. Being lighter the PCX 150 will be easier for me to move around. Everything about it would be better for me because of the way I plan on using it. If long road trips were on my agenda I would buy the Forza 300, but they are not on my agenda. Ride safe my friends.

Another option is the Burgman 400. I know, this is a Honda forum, and I do love our PCX 150. However, when it comes to riding 2 up for any extended time, I would go for a larger bike. When we have a friend who wants to ride along, we put them on the back of the Burgman. I'm not sure how well the original shocks on the PCX can handle 2 up for any great distance, like a long ride on a country road.

Yesterday my wife and I had a long talk. We decided it would be best if we bought the PCX 150 to use in the Philippines. Here it would almost all be very short rides. My only complaint with the PCX 150 is that you can not buy it with ABS brakes which I feel are very important. They could be a real life saver. We have one good American friend here that loves motorcycles. He's built two three wheelers and belongs to a motorcycle club. My wife and I have been guests at this club and we both like it very much. Members go on rides every Sunday. That might be another short coming of the PCX 150. If I went alone on these Sunday rides it would be OK I think, but with both of us on it, might not work out very well. Do you have any thoughts on this Mel?

Thank you for your advice about sitting on the Forza before we buy. I hope it fits my wife and I well but if it doesn't it doesn't. I have long been an admirer of the Bergman 400. I would have to used though. It's really hard to be-leave a new one costs over $10,000.00. That's the one thing bad about getting old is the cost of things. In the past you could buy a nice bungalow in a nice part of town for $6,000.00 and a very good used car for $2,000.00. Not any more. I really shouldn't complain. In the Philippines my wife and I live like kings. We travel and buy everything we want and eat very well. In America we have to watch our money but we get buy alright.

I didn't mean to ramble so. We'll check out the Forza and Bergman 400 after we get back to the states. Ride safe my friend.

Another option for you might be to buy the PCX and upgrade the shocks so that it could handle 2 up much easier. What you need to decide is where you plan to use the scooter the most. If this choice is for stateside then you will probably ride on the open road a lot. However, if you are planning on buying it here and transporting it back to the Philippines then you have to make sure someone there can maintain it. With money being tight, whichever choice you end up with will have to not only be inexpensive to buy, but also inexpensive to maintain. I do know that when we brought our scooters in for standard service the Burgman cost me 1/3 of what the PCX cost for service. That is because of the amount of work that goes into removing all the plastic on the PCX in order to service it. If you can't do the service yourself, be prepared to put out a lot of money in service fees on the PCX. I understand that the Honda SHi 150 (I think that is what it is called) is much easier to service. You might consider that scooter also, though it definitely looks like a scooter. Choose well. It should be one of your last trades. Most people trade bikes because they were never happy with the bike or they wore it out.
