Battery care

I am storing my battery in the basement on a trickle charger for the winter. My dealer installed connectors to the battery so I could leave the battery in the PCX and connect to my charger in the garage. My question is would there be any difference in rate of discharge and electricity use? It gets to be -20 F at times over the winter and usually does't get above freezing for several months during the winter. I am a little late asking this because we have only 3 or 4 more months of winter left here.

The battery shouldn't stay for a long time in room with temperature below 5 degrees Celsius (40 F). It can cause higher discharge and possibly lower battery lifetime. Many stories confirm this

So if you have a garage without heating, it is recommended to take battery out and store it in warmer place.

You need to take your battery inside. A trickle charger helps during times of nonuse, but is worthless when the temperatures get that low. Take your battery inside and put it in your basement, or somewhere climate controlled.
