Anyone care to break this down for me and what it actually does. I read it twice and don't understand what it's doing.

It basically just a flywheel. It keeps the engine momentum going as a single cylinder engine has only one power stroke per 4 revolutions.

if it's a flywheel, this is adding weight and also that the bike is a CVT type system when the bike drops in RPM the belt changes slowing the bike down. Also you have a flywheel already in the bike for the stator / generator system. The mag or some people call it a flywheel.

It's fitted on the other side of the crank at the cooling fan/radiator side. It works the same as a car flywheel dampening out vibration. The disadvantage of a heavy flywheel is that it revs up slower as the engine has to build up the momentum of the flywheel, but once the revs are up they don't slow down as quick. Race cars have lightened flywheels/ clutches for the opposite effect.

May be remotely helpful in gusty headwinds but I wouldn't bother with it.

to me i'd rather reduce weight getting the rpms to speed and being able to hold the throttle in position to keep me going. i understand the idea of making things heavier to keep the objects momentum going, but this just sounds crazy.

On a 4 stroke engine, when the piston comes up top it is either an exhaust stoke or power stroke.
So power stroke every other time.

Two "strokes" to every revolution

so i have tested the inertia booster on my 150 with pipe and intake and yumi vario it will still make it to the 70mph and downhill i even got to 80 but takes longer to get there. that being said if you stay off the highway it gives u a lil more kick on the flats and you can carry your speed a lil longer on the hills. if i had more power i would leave it so im gonna hang onto it but for now my yumi with 11g rollers it has more on the top end. big bore with cam and manifold would prolly benefit i just dont have the power.

It's not a power booster its just a washer.
