Mounting Givi topcase

I ordered a Givi E370 topcase for my scoot. I know that Givi sells the mounting brackets, but I also see that Honda makes a luggage rack mount for the Honda topcase. Seems to me I should be able to mount the Givi kit to the Honda rear trunk base - has anyone tried this?

I am pretty sure they have. In fact, there should be a thread concerning just that somewhere on this forum. Dave can find it if you can't.

Actually I found an excellent thread after I posted this - PCX commuter posted some excellent pics. Thanks!

Is it just me, or does the Givi mounting brackets make it look a bit like a UFO trying to land on the back of the scoot? The Honda rack mount seems to look a little more like it belongs there, albeit maybe a bit more bulky?

It's you. ;) I have the Givi mount and it looks perfectly fine. To me, when the Honda mount is used it looks like there the are two mounting plates.
