Right brake lever not adjustable?

I had my PCX in for its first service last week, and while I was there, I asked them to adjust the right brake lever so it's a bit closer, so I don't have to reach so far to grab it. (My left brake lever is perfect, at least 1/2 inch closer than the right.)

While paying for the service, I asked if they were able to move the brake lever, and the guy said it is not adjustable because it is hydraulic.

Any of you guys know if this is true? I have all stock parts.

Thanks!

Well, darn. But thanks for the answer.

It's weird - my husband has the same bike, but his levers are completely "even" as they should be; same distance from the grip on the left and right. Mine are totally uneven, and the right one is simply out too far to be comfortable. I guess I'll look for other levers.

Thanks.

That is strange. As far as I can remember, both of mine are equal distance from the grip.

The standard lever isn't adjustable because its rigid, it has nothing to do with the hydraulics.

Those are the ones I put on ours. They are great! They were easy to install.....10 minutes. I did them at home. My wife can now adjust them individually too. I highly recommend them.

Did you check? It might just be the fingers on your right hand are shorter.

Thanks for the replacement suggestion. Looks like that may be the way to go.

I bought the same ones as Mel, except black with red. I'm having the dealer install them while they are repairing the scooter. I asked them how much would they charge me to put them on and he said he'll do it for me for free since they have to replace the other one.

My husband has the same issue, although his fingers aren't shorter. The brake on the left is visibly sticking out way farther than the right. I actually was a bit worried, but his breaks seem to be OK. I'm not quite sure why they aren't even, though.

They're not even because they are two completely different systems and do not have reach adjusters.

That makes sense to me. I told my husband that they do two different things. It kind of makes sense to me that he can pull the one side easier and the combi brake takes a bit more force.

Well, this is the exact opposite of the problem I have - my right brake lever is farther out than my left. And on my husband's PCX, they're perfectly even.

So I don't think it's "by design." It seems more like sloppy craftsmanship.

Kermit, are you and your husband's PCXes the same model year?

The tightness of the left lever is directly proportional to how tight the adjuster nut is on the rear drum brake, to the left of the rear tire. :)
