Hello,

I can't get my seat open the button won't even push in. What conditions are required for the seat to be opened? The battery is low (too low to start but all the displays come on fine)

I think I am doing something wrong I've only just got the bike

Don't hate me

Hey Hondax2 ... Why would we hate you for that question? If you are having a problem, no matter how simple you might think it is, that is one of the good things about these forums, we're here to try and help. I am guessing that the seat release in electrical and not manual (I have not really paid attention to it. If the battery is low, there may not be enough juice in it to trigger the seat release. If it is mechanical, then it is a different problem. Whatever it is, I don't think we should hate you for that question.

I don't have time to look through other threads, but I am fairly confident that I have seen something about this before. Start searching and you might find it :D ... or sit back and see if someone answers here. ;)

   ... don't feel bad, I have a friend who, years back, called the TV repair guy in, and all the repair guy did was plug it in. My firned hadn't realized his wife had unplugged it because she wanted to use the socket for something else. She had never done that before, so he didn't even think of it.

When we first got my wife's PCX she continually had problems getting the seat latch to release until I worked with her to show her that there is a specific position that will allow the seat button to be pushed, and it would not work in any other position. Now her only complaint is that it doesn't latch easy, though I can walk over to it and just press it down and it will lock. It has to do with patience and practice. You'll get the hang of it soon.

Or the man?

Seat button and key position isn't that natural tbh

At least you didn't do the sidestand and not starting issue. Which I think we have all done too...

The fuel and seat release are both mechanical. Thank The Lord for Honda's smarts on that one. A friend has a 2008 vespa gt250. It has 75 miles on it. I tried to buy it from them but when I told them the value minus the repair cost they weren't interested in selling it for $1000. They are the first owners too. Our bikes are way cheaper to own than others.

Yup, I've tried to start it with the kick stand down. I never use the engine cut off because I always just use the kick stand to make sure that it's down. Although sometimes I accidentally hit the engine cutoff switch and and try to start it.

Again there is never a dumb question.

This doesn't assure that the stand is all the way down because the motor cuts off before it is fully extended.
