hi all.

Just introducing myself having made the decision to definitely buy a PCX.

I'll probably wait until Sept 1st to get the plate change (meaningless to anyone not in the UK) and the decision to go new is based on the bigger fuel tank in the latest models which is a real clincher for me - although I did look at a few used models anything decent seems to hold money quite well and be close to the new price anyway.

My 2-wheeled history (abridged) - working backwards from my current Kawasaki KLE500 (which is a real dog !)

BMW K1100LT
Gilera GP800
BMW K75
Piaggio X9 500
BMW R1100RS
BMW F650GS
Harley Davidson XL1200S
BMW R100S (at the same time I was riding a BMW R80RT for work - but as an AA man not a police officer !)
Honda CB750
Honda CX 500
Kawasaki Z650
etc etc.......................back to a Gilera RS50e in 1976

Rather than rabbit on, you'll find out most about me and my bikes at

http://www.terrygibson.blogspot.co.uk or my bike pages at
http://www.terrygibson.eu/ (not recently updated)

Looking forward to being a PCX owner :-)

Very cool. Given your extensive history on 2 wheels, it would be helpful to know why you made the decision. My home is similar to London -- busy city -- and definitely interested in the rationale.

Snowdog,

The decision is based on a number of things really including:

Penury
Getting old (when I'm "geared up" for riding, throwing a leg over the high KLE is sometimes a challenge)
A need for reliability (anything to avoid getting on the Tube)
A desire to go back to the convenience of a scooter as I pretty much ONLY use a bike for commuting these days
The realisation that a new Royal Enfield Continental GT is not actually a sensible decision
The KLE is not long for this world !
