Hello all,

Oil needs a top up the manual says 4 stroke 10 30 but can only find this at £20 for one litre and it's a 40 mile round trip to get it.

I have been advised by a garage a 10 40 will be fine and I can get this no problems.

Advice? Thanks all

10w/40 will be fine. It says in the owners manual you can use that in warm temperatures but I've used it with no probs. it's just slightly thicker that's all.

I use Mobil 1 5w40 out of the tap at work. Scooters don't have a wet clutch so you don't need motorcycle specific oil. Whn it gets low, I always just drain what is left and refill for an oil change. Don't bother checking the screen as there won't be anything in there.

As has been stated a 5w40, 10w40 will work. but Honda specs a 10w30 for fuel economy.

And has been stated any quality oil will work, either motorcycle oil or auto oil. We don't have a shared sump. No clutch in oil.

Pennzoil Ultra 10w30 (car oil) is my current fill.

Is the 10w 40 also good for ambient Temps in the mid 30ish F range.

I'm sure some of you already know this , but strangely , Amsoil does not make an MB spec oil---for those who like to abide buy the manual lube specs. This is per Amsoil corporate in Wisconsin .

Ditto. Stop sweating it.

No sweating involved , just trying to find out why Honda would spec an MB oil vs .....just use whatever . Especially the final drive , where the service manual doesn't even give a different viscosity usage , unlike the engine specs . No worries .
