A1 motorcycle licence
I have recently bought a PCX125 when turning 17, after a year of riding a Chinese 50cc scooter. I will be learning to drive soon and will do my full licence test. I will be riding my PCX for at least two years so I was wondering weather it would be worth me doing a full A1 licence along with my full car license. Please let me know what think, I feel it may be useful to have under my belt
thanks a lot for any feedback.

I think if you have the money you should go for it, it'll make you a more aware rider and you won't have to use l plates!

Re: A1 motorcycle licence
If your only keeping the bike for 2 years and you don't mind L plates on why do the test. If your going to the expense of doing a test wait a bit and do the A2 or direct access. Your stuck with 125cc with an A1.

Yeah, i've been thinking of A1 for a while (since doing cbt) just to get rid of L plates, i'm happy just riding 125 and will either do my cbt again or A1

Re: A1 motorcycle licence
A2/direct access cost varies a great deal such as whether you are confident on a powerful bike (gears and say 350cc) and just sit the tests, or need to do the full training. CBT about £100 every 2 years for 125cc (although you can do it for £79 inc gear and loan of bike which is what I did - http://mctlondon.co.uk/), DA can be around £600 with £100 retest fees. Nice to be able to ride a more powerful bike and do motorways, but how often would you want to do that? More expensive bike, less mpg - perhaps only worth it for long journeys on motorways?

Thank you everyone for all your feedback, I feel it could be a project for me to work on once the car is out the way, it will be good to the have the license to get rid if the L's and the practicality of carrying a pillion, also not having to repeat my CBT every two years (next year for me as did mine July 2013)
