On the to-do list for the forum
(DONE) 1. Configure logo to be a hyperlink to home page
(DONE) 2. Add color scheme other than algae green (eww)
(DONE) 3. Install tapatalk if possible
4. Open Quick-reply by default
5. Remove subject in reply
(DONE) 6. Increase max image size to 1920x1080
Eventual list...
- Moderators other than me (once the site becomes busy)
- More pages with general resources in the FAQ
- SEO to promote site (site submitted to major webcrawlers, and is currently on 4th page of google... after one day with no optimizations)
Controversial suggestions
- Shrink content into less subforums
Rejected suggestions
Post any more suggestions here, to keep things clean. If anyone's really good with graphics and wants to try to create a better theme or banner, I welcome that.

You did? I can't seem to find where to change it
Also another (less controversial) suggestion: Please have the quick reply box opened by default

Also, just a nitpick I have with just about every standard forum software: why can I enter a subject for a reply to a thread? No one is going to read it! It can only add to the confusion if anyone actually uses it and people therefore don't understand the posts.

Added the other two to the list.

I wanted to make a thread in the Gallery section, to dump pics of my PCX, but the 1024x768 limit makes me a sad panda
Me thinks that in the age of cheap 1920x1080 displays and ubiquitous broadband, this limit is a bit out-dated.

Hmm... I guess there isn't really any reason to limit size as low as it is. I'll reconfigure to allow higher resolutions when I get home tonight.
Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Well it also depends on the kind of bandwidth you have available, so setting a size limit (as in, filesize) might not be a bad idea depending on your budget. The files I wanted to upload were pretty large (2.5 megapixel, saved at 50% quality with Photoshop ~= 450 kbyte each), but I guess I just like my pixels

dave - is there a minimum post count to be able to use the PM feature? I have been trying to PM you to get yet another resource for your site. Also, may I suggest adding a PM button under peoples avatar?
Thanks!
Eddie

Infinite bandwidth, infinite storage. Web space is cheap nowadays, so people griping about how much of a favor they're doing for you by hosting something are twats. Upload 1080p pics, I changed that to the max size and encourage you to use our space.
I don't think there is a post minimum for PMs. I'll try to PM you to see if it works.

I'd love to have all URLs open up in a new tab/window.
Being php I have no idea how you go about it...old school was target_blank or something.

If your mouse has a scroller wheel if you click links with that they open in a new tab. Not sure if thats just with firefox though.

You also can control+click the link to open in a new tab.
PHP is a scripting language that generates html, so target=blank would be the right flag to add to the link code (a href...). I cannot implement that for all users, because I know it would completely destroy browsing experience because I wouldn't know what I had intentionally opened in a new window, or what was automatically opened.
I looked into any plugins for this forum management software to allow me to add that as an option, but I couldn't find anything. For now, the suggestion will have to be denied, sorry.

It's cool. You're right about clicking to new, but I use iPhone a lot and like when it pops up in a new tab.

Have you tried tapatalk? I haven't used it personally, but a lot of users swear by it.
