Honda PCX 125 Transmission oil (Final Drive Oil)

Hi All,
I have phoned no less than four Honda PCX 125 Dealerships, spoke to the workshop manager every time and asked them what oil to use in the PCX 125 transmission box and got totally conflicting answers from them, answers ranging from EP90 gear oil to 80W90 manual gear oil to 10W40 engine oil that is currently in the engine. I am confused.
Please can anybody tell me what the Honda PCX 125 workshop or maintenance manual says about what oil to use for the Honda PCX 125 transmission box or final drive box?
Thank you in advance....

The final drive oil only needs changed every two years and its the same grade of oil as you put in the engine.

USE 10w-30 (same as engine) in the final drive.
one drain bolt and one fill bolt... with the engine level, after draining the oil, fill the oil until it comes out of the fill hole.
after searching a bit I found this (thanks slickvic)

GN2 is right. It's much easier give the low volumes. I use syringes a lot

Whatever floats your very weird cannibalised junkyard boat.

The service receipt for my 600 mile service showed a mix of oil added inc EP90, but I still believe that was nonsense and just something to charge for. Why would a new scoot having done 600 miles need the final drive oil changed - I do not believe that's on the 1st service unlike checkiing the valves which they hardly ever soon to do anyway (service cost best part of £90!).

Well, if one did it him/herself it would not be a bad idea, as the oil capacity is very small, and one's time is free
On the other hand, dealers like to increase their revenues...

Thanks again for the information, and I have just read Maddiedog's "How-to":

And in the pic that he uploaded:

I have realised that the instructions that you posted are not for the PCX

I mention it in case that someone adds an incorrect amount of oil (Maddiedog advices to add 8 ounces), or torques the bolts at an incorrect torque (Maddiedog's post recommends 23nm

)

Yeah that appears to be for the Honda lead 110, but it is almost the same as the pcx

No other way to really get in there and get the right amount of gear oil in. Far too messy otherwise. Excellent advice right there.
To the OP, you can use gear oil if you really want to, but why go to the expense unless you have it on hand already. The reason you're getting differing opinions is that the answer really is all of the above.
Honda has a habit of making vehicles with very high tolerances for screwing around with engine and gear lubrications, at least in their smaller bikes. When the supercub first came out, they ran it (across Australia I think), with fry oil in the crankcase. No issues. Crazy stuff right there.
