Advice before going to the dealer for service.

I bought a 2013 yesterday. It had been sitting in the garage for 2-3 months since the owner had purchased a bigger bike. Oil level was low. Upper coolant tank was empty. Tires were low but not flat. I bought Honda coolant and poured it in. It flooded out onto the tire. Either the tank is cracked or the hose is cracked or the hose is disconnected. I ordered a new tank and hose from Honda just in case. I have an appointment in 6 days for it to be fixed. The dealer said that he had seen 2 cases of the tank being cracked, but it was not a common problem. (my bike had been stored in a garage..not fully exposed to weather).

2. I have read the posts here about the valve adjustment at 600 miles. The owner of this bike did not have that service done. She just drove it. It now has 2,000 miles. I will have the dealer do the valve adjustment.

3. The upper brake fluid reservoir is a bit low. I have been reading the manual but don't understand how to get to the other fluid gauge. Is it easy to get to? It looks like it is to the right of the Seat-Gas switch. I will have the dealer top up the fluids ( i usually do small jobs like this myself but the owners manual said that the low fluid might mean that the brakes need to be adjusted).

4. My Seat-Release switch works perfectly. You can hear it release. But the seat won't click down into place. It is not engaging the metal and snapping shut. I will have the dealer look at it but i don't want to spend much money on this unless you think that it is unsafe to ride the bike with the seat not firmly latched.

5. I removed the oil drain plug easily. But the plug for the oil screen was tough. I could not get it off. It is behind a small pipe. Should i have this checked during the service .... which will mean replacing the new oil i just poured..... or can i leave it alone? I have read the posts on this forum saying that it probably doesn't need to be cleaned at 2,000 miles but i would like your advice.

6. Since the coolant upper tank is empty, do i need to check the radiator before driving 10 miles to the dealer? The owners manual says to leave the radiator alone and only add coolant to the top tank.

If you have ideas about any of the above items, i would enjoy hearing them. Is there anything else you would recommend on this service visit. I owned a Honda Metropolitan for 1 year before buying the PCX. It was fun. I am hoping the PCX will be even better since the Metropolitan 49cc engine could only hit 35 miles per hour going downhill with the wind at my back. In normal driving it topped out at 33mph.

I think you are right. I will bring some snacks for the mechanics.

I just joined this forum. Should i have broken up my question into 6 separate questions? Or would the forum prefer that i post all of my questions in one place?

ROFL.. I try to read long ones but I fall asleep sometimes, you and Mel will be good friends

OK I will take number one, or wait that's number two. Valve clearance yes for sure get them to look at that however it will log some hours so get ready to paypay.

Reminds me of a funny story, my wife once went looking for the paypal website by searching google. NEVER DO THAT! just use the browser text block and put the www because some ne'er-do-well has a phishing site called PayPay waiting for you to enter your account information :) We had a block of internet safety technics instruction that day that nearly ended in devor........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Get it trailered to the dealer for repairs unless you have the service manual and can repair and refill the cooling system yourself.
You should not ride it (or even start it) without a properly working cooling system.
