Check the standard manual that comes with the bike. It gives full instructions on changing the spark plug.

I checked through my old packet of papers from when I bought the PCX. There was no instruction manual. I found a downloadable manual from ClubPCX. The task looks pretty easy. Thanks for the tip.

Ew, the Vietnamese one?

First off, make sure not to overtighten the spark plug. The spec for it is 16 N/m or 1.6 kgf*m or 12 ft/lb, which isn't much past hand-tightened.

If you buy the manual, you need pages 4-7 and 4-8. I took pics of the pages you need from the English manual:

Enjoy! ;)

Oh, mind if I move this to General, since it's not exactly a how-to? :)

I like to think of it as the community's forum. I don't delete or modify anything unless it's pornographic, spam, or the user gives me permission. :D

OH GOD WHY (the 2nd pic)

Do I even consider that spam, or sarcasm? You did give me permission to remove it, but maybe I'll keep it up to make everyone think you like fatties.

Eitherway, look at some http://www.eyebleach.com to get that image out. Yech. (<-- caution, link potentially nsfw)

wondering why you need to replace the spark plug. have you really done that many miles already?

anyway, the main concerns with changing the sparkplug are.

1. dont let any small rocks, dirt or other crap get into the spark plug hole as that can damage the cyclinder wall. (probably not a concern on the PCX with the way the spark plug goes in)

2. be very careful not to crossthread it

3. dont overtighten as maddie already said.

it is easy to damage the threads of the soft engine metal by cross threading or overtightening.
