I paid $1.82 US / gal two days ago before it jumped back up over $2 yesterday here in Missouri. It was a local supply issue they said and already sliding back down. o_O

Crazy low fuel prices in the US now... politicians will raise taxes if it doesn't go back up soon
'we will have none of that'

$1.82 ??? Wow! The lowest gas i have seen recently here in Georgia is $2.45. Oh, wait. When we rode a few days ago we came across a gas station out in the country that had gas for $2.41 per gallon. In most of those places the gas has 10% ethanol content. With Atlanta now being one of those high use cities i am surprised that our gas prices aren't lower.

Unrecoverable hydrocarbons? Only from this planet at this point in time. Cheap doesn't come into this. How many people are starving/subjected or struggling for hope?

2 cents cheaper down the road with a coupon or whatever...

I heard recently that Georgia politicians are trying to raise the gas tax by 6 cents per gallon. You and i know that once the tax is raised, it will never go back down. Interestingly enough, the gas tax increase is suppose to go for road improvements, which is really interesting considering that they are presently in the process of turning one lane of a Federal Highway into a toll lane! So a road that our taxes have already paid for is going to become a toll road, which will pay for it again! Well, what else should we expect from politicians who never have enough money? Believe it or not, there are quite a few roads in the South (that's the states in the United States that lost the Civil War back in the 1860s) that have roads our taxes paid for, but they go nowhere. I know of a few in Alabama that go to the politician's custom homes, with no other houses for miles and miles. ....and our taxes paid for them. ..:-(( oh well.

Those taxes always end up in the general fund so they can squander them. The oil analysts are already predicting gas will be back over $3 by the EOY. The 1%ers are buying up oil options now.

Just paid 113.9 cents a litre or $3.45 US a gallon (the 3.78L kind) the other day. Lots of taxes. I typically save 30 cents a litre driving half an hour south to Washington State which I did once a month or two and would bring back two 20L jerry cans back. But my passport expired.

In Alberta next door where they produce the oil, got to 69.9 cents a litre or $2.11 US a gallon last month.

Oh my goodness! Sounds like oppression.
I see similarly poorly thought out taxing schemes in the States; A 'dry' county surrounded by counties selling alcohol, loses millions year over year - while accomplishing nothing.

Lol. It was big news when a county in Alberta finally allowed liquor stores to open within its boundaries.

It could be worse. The Europeans on this site are probably rolling their eyes at us. I think Japan and Australia have gas prices about 20 to 30 cents a litre higher than we are.

Then I went to Vietnam back in 2010 and recalled their gas prices to be about the same as in Washington State. But the average person makes $300 a month there.
