How much should I pay for a 2015 PCX 150?

Hi.

I've been trolling the board for a bit and am nearly ready to pull the trigger on a 2015 white PCX. My local dealer has one on the floor at the MSRP price of $3,499. I was curious what is a fair offer looks like? Is it safe to assume the $310 destination charge I see on Honda's website will be added? Should I expect those vague "dealer fees?" I'm just trying to prepare myself for when a $3,500 scooter becomes $4,500 after taxes. I haven't decided whether I will purchase Honda's rear case, mount, and lock at the time of purchase or maybe wait and decide later.

Thanks in advance!

Hook

Please put in your location on your profile (at least country) since this is a global forum and prices vary all over the place by location. Basically, everything is negotiable depending on how badly they want to sell them. Being that 2015 is just starting I am not sure what you will see. I bought a brand new 2013 PCX in 2014 and paid $2950 plus $200 total fees excluding sales tax in summer. I bought a 2014 Forza at the end of 2014 and did even better % wise.

Funny I missed that. I actually completed quite a bit of my profile when I registered but failed to see the location box. I live in Kentucky.

You can reasonably expect to pay around 4K. If you can do better, great, but don't hold your breath. OTOH, while Kentucky is warmish, it is not exactly prime riding season, so maybe the dealer will be a bit hungry.

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback everyone...very helpful

I've seen the white in person and liked it, but after seeing this video I think I want to see a black one in person before making my final decision. Black is mean looking on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydpXT2zQHow

My dealer had both the white and black but has only sold the white 2015's so far he said. They are a pearl looking color like my Titanium auto. Very nice for a non-red color. :P The new Honda Grom's are black and red but I still think the red takes it.

Maybe if the black was a matte.

I really like the red! The gray and bronze colors aren't bad either. No matter, my options are black and white this year...and I plan to buy a scooter by the Spring. I'm just taking the time to look at all the other options, but I really like the PCX.

All Japanese motorcycles are marked up approx 17%. I think 10% off retail is generally a good place to start. So, take $3400- $340 then add frieght back in and a modest setup fee of $100 and then tax and registration fees.

In CA, this comes to around $4100 OTD. I would bend as much as 2% overall, but that's about it.

Be sure to check Honda's website for specials to see if there are any additional incentives and subtract those amounts from the total purchase price. (For example: $300 off 2015 PCX150). Then the price would be $3800 OTD approx

I used to work in sales for a motorcycle dealership.

Buying my two bikes after season I only paid $200 in fees for each and no freight. I don't know if Honda rebates that at some point or the dealership just eats it to sell them. I think they both had around an additional $500 for freight but they didn't even try to include that.

Well today I pulled the trigger and purchased a 2015 Honda PCX in black. My total out the door price (after tax, deliver handling fee, & licensing) was $3,691.94. Had two different dealers to commit to that price. The base price on my paperwork shows $3,204.66, $192.28 for tax, $259 (hard printed) for a delivery fee, and $36 for license and transfer.

One dealer had a white one and my local dealer had both a white one on the floor and a black one in the back in a crate. I was able to watch them put the mirrors and fire it up for the first time. :)

One dealer offered me a 2014 Forza with 400 miles on it for $4,200. That was so incredibly tempting but at 6'2" I really don't like the seats and the lack of leg room on the Forza as compared to the PCX. I really think the PCX has what I need though, and I really appreciate how light and nimble it is.

Again, I appreciate everyones comments and I hope my experience will help others on their PCX search and pricing.

Cool Penny. Funny how we paid almost the exact same amount.

SECoda - I really like the front and rear styling of the Forza...and obviously the power and the price offered. However I don't like the seat design, how I sit on it, nor do I like how the dash protrudes (sp?) where my knees are. At the price offered I really "tried" to like it. Perhaps Forza will make some slight changes in the future. I'm sure it's a quality scooter.

To be frank and owning both bikes, 6'2" tall is too tall for either with stock seats. I am 5'11" and that is stretching the limit IMO. The custom seats we got from Thailand can be modded for the PCX by sliding the back rest back for tall folks. It was very inexpensive for the PCX. They do Forzas too but the seats are more costly.

This is their web site. Several of us have successfully ordered from them and they do customization at a small fee. Mel46 had his extended since he is about your height I think.

Sounds to me like a deal and a half, Hooksta! Congrats! And I would expect in Kentucky, you will be in serious scooting season by March or so. Excellent, and welcome!
