You guys recommend any good ones? I found this website that sells them. I'm interested in getting it for when I get my bike, but I'm not sure how accurate digital speedometers are compared to analog ones.

I like how the numbers and bright screen pop right out at you. Especially if you were to ride at night.

Thoughts?

There are threads here of folks that bought them in the recent past if you do a Search. If I remember correctly they like them but putting one in is a significant task and one guy had a pro do it for a small charge.

I have this one and I love it. The tachometer and the clock sealed the deal for me. I am also running the temperature gauge. However on US models the standby light does not work because our bikes are not equipped with that feature.

Really the only downsides to this unit are the cost and the time it takes to put in. Basically all the front panels have to come off. Oh also if you buy it, contact Kitaco directly and they will send you instructions in English. The unit is a tad difficult to figure out, even if you have the instructions.

P.S. Found the instructions....

I'd say another downside is the fact that your original mileage gets reset after installing one of these things.

I purchased one and had it shipped to the US. I brought it back to Thailand in November, but here's the kicker ... I still haven't had it installed. :(

The Christmas 'rush' hit and then I had surgery in January that I am still recovering from. I am hoping to take my PCX into the shop some time in March. Will post something once I get it installed.

Thanks for the instructions in English.

So it alters your original mileage. I am not that concerned about it as I installed it shortly after the 500 mile mark. I guess it could affect resale a little if the mileage on the odometer is not true, but it is doubtful if you are honest. Besides, it looks stock and works even better!

Mileage also doesn't concern me too much because once the engine goes kaput, it's getting a 170 bbk upgrade.

What I will do when I swap mine over is take a picture of both the old one and the new one with the front page of the newspaper that day held beside it. It is not absolutely trustworthy for everyone, but at least it lets the people know that it wasn't swapped over before that date.

This is something that immigration officials in Thailand ask people to do when they need a visa extension because they are in the hospital or something like that. You take a picture of them in the hospital with the daily paper held beside them.
