Parking brake lock

While doing my initial service I am looking at my brake lock. I've never used it before but according to the manual you're supposed to pull the left lever, rear brake while pulling the brake lock. My pcx is on its center stanf and I can still free wheel it. Any ideas?

Adjusting the parking brake to within spec it is definately not working. Is it something the warranty will cover.

Chief says,

put up on c- stand,
while turning the rear wheel tighten the adjusting nut on the brake arm until you feel drag on the wheel,
back off a couple turns until wheel turns freely,
pull rear brake lever hard and while holding it pull P-brake knob out to set the parking brake,
then never use it again... lol

positive; you will have a usable parking brake

negative; you will no doubt find yourself burning up your drum brakes when you forget to release it within your next 3 rides.

Homie is correct. Guaranteed to happen. If you do decide to adjust it just remember, after the adjustment to turn on your scoot and check to see if your brake light still goes on and off when you pull the lever. Sometimes if you adjust the cable too far it will cause the brake light to stay on.

Even after having mine looked at under warranty and looking at the device myself with the entire front end dismantled, I could not get mine to work well and have the rear wheel freespin.

Don't count on the PCX's parking brake lock ever, it's a terrible afterthought, and doesn't function well.
