Honda PCX 125 Crankshaft

Good morning,
I had a "little" problem with my PCX... The variator plate broke and it got stuck between the crankshat and the crank case. It ended up with a twisted crankshaft and a broken crank case. While the crank case is easy to solve the crankshat is not that easy. I´m gonna take it to a mechanic shop (using a lathe or something they think it´s adequate) to try to put it back on tracks. If not i need to buy a used crankshaft.
The question i have is simple: Is the crankshaft from PCX 125 (may 2013) the same as the one fitted in the pcx 150?
Anyone with a PCX125 2013 crankshaft to sell?
Best Regards
Pedro Costa

Hi Pedro - just wondering, was this original parts or aftermarket enhancements?

Would love to see that in pictures! Your question about crank shaft compatibility is way up there on the food chain. I wonder who would answer

I can get you some photographs tomorrow. I have just disassembled the whole bike and engine.
The variator plate was stock. My pcx is full stock. I don´t know the other variator plates on the market but i think they might have better cooling fins. My clue is that it warmed up a lot and it wasn´t able to cool down. The mechanics at Honda couldn´t tell me the reason.
For me it doesn´t make much sense to modify the pcx for performance reasons. It will always be slow. The pcx is what it is and it won´t be another bike if you modify it but, as i said, it´s my opinion.
I´m gonna talk to the mechanics at honda and try to figure out if the crankshaft is the same. My guess is that the crankshaft is the same... the difference is on the connecting rod. the 150 has a slightly shorter one, my guess
Thanks anyway!

Not sure a variator letting go would twist a crank, and a lathe certainly wouln't sort it.
Why not look around for a s/h engine?

Should be part #1 on there. Doesn't your Honda dealer have it there? I figure you're outside the US, so ordering from your dealer should be simpler.

Here´s a couple of pics of the variator plate...
Thanks for your help anyway. Problem solved. The crankshaft is repairing and the crank case has been filled up with aluminium again. by the middle of the week i´ll have the crankshaft and on next weekend will be rolling again

Have you been revving it at a standstill with the back wheel in contact with the ground?

And you haven't seen the crank... Or the crankcase Lol
Anyway... I spoke to a honda mechanic who had almost the same problem... A twisted crank. It's shitty material. It's not built to last long. And it's not that cheap regarding maintenace. The tires wear out fast as hell considering we're talking about a 125... (i drive about 6000/7000 kms until the wire mesh starts to appear) for my experience with pcx, i'm selling it and going back to the 600. Much much more reliable. Anyway for short trips it's perfect, other use besides that, the result is this

Well, of the 1000's of PCX sold and used all over the world, the may be the 1st occurence spoken about on a forum. Members here have done 10'000s miles with little problem, except rear tyre wear after 4000-7000 miles (dependant on how hard it's ridden). I assume that applies to most scooters not just PCX?

The rear tyre wear is down to the particular tyre fitted at the factory.
Replacements last much longer, particularly Michelin City Grips.

That's what i've got... 6000 and something and the limit tire marks are way gone... In dry weather they're pretty much the same. With rain and loads of rain they are way better than the irc. Those irc are insane with rainy weather and if you have them as your front tyre you better pray the gods ahahahh

That's simply insane. I can't imagine what happened to cause that.
I have no idea what you did, but it had to be REALLY stupid or involve WAY over-torquing that variator to cause that.

You are the only one to have any problem like that with the variator. And my first rear tire made it to 14,000km and the front is still on at 28,000km.

I read of another variator coming apart with very light weights on facebook.
