Hello,
I wonder about optimal time for driving a little faster on my PCX 125 2014. The top speed is 110 km/h and outside city I need to go about 90 km/h. For how long can I drive 90 km/h without causing damage to the engine, or motorcycle itself? Of course I'm not talking about an instant damage, I mean a long-term damage which will happen eventually.

Nobody will know the answer, but I guess it will be tens of thousands of miles.

It's really doubtful that any sort of riding could lead to engine damage. You might wear the parts out faster, but I would say a part that needs replacing at 5000 miles will still need replacing at 5000 miles, so the only thing that should be affected is how fast you get there.

Keep it serviced regularly and look after it by checking the tyres and levels you shouldn't have any problems..

Safest thing is to never ride it. Only way to be sure.

Alternatively ride it anyway you want and I'm sure it'll be fine

I ride at 60mph (100kph)for miles and miles at a time, no problems here so far! The honda pcx is fairly under powered and restricted with a very safe Rev limiter you will be fine at 90kph for hour and hours with any issues at all

The PCX is very conservatively tuned. You shouldn't worry about it, unless you're riding at the limiter for thousands of miles at a time. You're fine at 90 km/h for the life of the engine.

The transmission is more of a concern than the engine.
The engine will last almost indefinitely if the fluids are changed at the specified intervals.
The transmission will need replaement parts much more often.

But it doesn't really matter what speed you ride at. Surging on and off the rev limiter probably isn't the best, but any speed up to that is just as good as any other.

As others have stated, as long as you follow engine maintenance intervals, you'll probably do a dozen CVT belt changes before the engine finally needs a major service.
