It was a great day today when I picked up my scooter. Riva motorsports was very professional on the deal. I plan to do something on the bike every few days, from reading here there is lots I want to do! esp the DIY section.Mel & Maddie, thanks for the advice. I'll just add on to this thread. A great bike!

Now you just have to put some Honda Wing decals on it. Makes it go faster.

So today i wanted to get the paint sealed, for dirt and such, the paint is in great shape ;no swirls, and no OP. Passes the baggie test for clay. no need. So Unlike a lengthy detail on my cars of clay, polish and seal, this bike got the 15 min procedure of paint clean with diluted iso alcohol and straight to a wipe on/no buff: polymer sealant. Done for 3 minths. Back to riding!

So hard to show gloss on white ....pic in a few....

Good stuff. I took the whole family out for a meal in our shonky minibus. Never laughed so much for ages and got to see my oldest daughter walk for the first time

Digging out the PCX tomorrow for a ride to work in the sun. Paintwork might be a bit dusty. Any tips?

So today was the first arrival of many parts I expect from the vendors here, so here's the muffler garnish and a DIY fender bob below plate. Be careful with the garnish, it is very thin, and explains why it's an inexpensive part. It bolts right to the plastic, total garnish. It'll come off with another mod later.....Enjoy

So again, no cool pics but so easy to do: removal of windshield to silica coat the shield, it came with a few dealer supplied micro scratches...
1. So easy, garnish pulls towards you after screws come out , and 4 bolts release the shield.

Shield Procedure:
1.Orbital/med pad for both sides w/ meguires 205 fine polish, speed 3, micro scratches gone.
2. 2 coats both sides, with CquartzUK

Now bugs/dirt don't stick for a few years, esp hard to clean underside

Dr Pulley sliders on - it took about 30 min due to the EXCELLENT DIY thread over in the DIY/tech section. No surprises, I agree you can keep the lowers on with a lot less screws...LOL....the variator nut was not too tight, and easily broke free with a breaker bar. The OEM rollers I pulled out (USA PCX 2015) are 16 grams, I replaced with 13g sliders. A difference? ....yes...better take off is apparent, and WOT looks to be about the same, maybe a mph or two slower....where you really feel it is the abrupt 0-5 mph accell, A worthwhile mod...next up tomorrow - the Malossi exhaust.

So after taking a quick look this seemed to be a 30 min deal and it was close. The exhaust came packed very well, it is outstanding quality and everything matched up perfectly. Note - you can see the exhaust studs much better from the other side thru the center stand. Even the pipe polishes up nicely...ready to ride tomorrow! Sound is very nice, much more a throaty presence than the stock pipe which by the way, must have weighed twice the new set up.

Word of advice before you get too carried away:
Don't touch the engine. There are a few changes in the 2015 model that makes it a headache.

Yup, I Have a shop manual, not touching powertrain, other than the sliders.

Interested in your cleaning products, I'm based in the UK but you got any links to suppliers you use and trust?

Its more the procedure that the actual product that makes a good detail., they are all pretty good when you use the right technique. Basically on a PCX you can do a very fine polish and then any type of wax or Or sealsnt that you like. I personally like blackfire products, because they come off and go on easily. On the pipe I used mothers metal polish, and a mothers powercone on a cordless drill, quick and effective. on the shield i use a true coating (Cquartz), as it is permanent and tough.

I have a full set of documents that I've done for other forums on how to detail a car/bike/boat easily ,for a newbie. P.m. me if you'd like it

I use autoglym. It seems to work ok and there are a wide range of products. Just don't use the tyreslick.

Mr sheen's great for fitting rear subframe bushes on old mercs. The slide in a treat.

So finished the major mods today, with the Bikerbitz YSS shocks going on. Following the DIY again, there were no surprises and just lots of bolts and screws to take it apart. I'll report on the ride and experience later...
