Honda Forza 300 Second Recall

29.000 bikes & scooters were recalled in Japan (among them is ours of course). Wait for it... Ignition button! Not fully waterproof. There is a chance of setting the engine on fire or just sadden death of it. Button or/& whole ignition wiring needs to be changed.

I make it the third recall, there was the rear wheel problem then the fuel pump.

Anyone know the dates of the first two recalls? I've just bought a UK 2014 model and would be interested to know if any recalls have been done on it.

The only UK recall is the fuel pump one.
The rear wheel one was sorted before it went on sale here.
Stick your VIN here and all will be revealed:

Which model year(s) is affecting the ignition switch recall? Only 2014 and prior, or also 2015.

I received the fuel pump recall notice last December and will finally take it to the dealer next week. Over 13,000 miles on it so far.

It seems to me Honda should sell Forzas in pairs. That way you will always have one to ride while the other is in the repair shop.

I have had zero issues with mine so far, but if they want to give me a new fuel pump after 13,000 miles, I'll let them.

I've only got 4000 miles on mine so far, but I haven't had any issues with mine yet either. I did take it in for the fuel pump recall since the replacement was free, but I was having no problems with it. This is the 4th scooter I have had and the best. It runs so smooth and quiet, I love it. The other scooters I had, I would never know if I would make it from destination A to destination B without having to push it a ways. Never even think about it with the Forza.

Ok, this be a little disconcerting for this soon to be new owner of a 2014 Forza!! I just completed a deal on this scoot and won't pick up for a couple of weeks from now. So, if the 2014 was bought in Boise, Id (I live in Baker City, Or.), am I to understand that I should be communicating with the Dealer about recalls on this brand new machine before I take delivery on it? I'm about 125 miles from the dealer, so I would assume this would be quite important to my completing the deal on the bike!
Wow, I currently ride a 1987 Helix and haven't had to worry much about this kind of problem for a long time!

Any new bike sold by an authorized service point is to do all recalls and service actions prior to delivering the bike.

Tks for the info! I have communicated with the dealer and they are addressing the recalls. I'll obviously know more when I take delivery and read the workorders. Hopefully it will work out as expected with no issues to address with the dealer.

Currently 1987 Honda Helix

Thanks. Just checked mine and the pump hasn't been replaced, so I've emailed the dealer.

Good forum, this.

I got a call from the Dealer indicating that the Bike was ready for pickup tomorrow, so I ask to speak to the Service Manager and mentioned to him that I assume that the three recalls had been addressed. He indicated, "Wait one" and when he came back, he indicated that he had checked the VIN # and that the only recall for the bike was related to changing the Fuel Pump, which he indicated they had done. I mentioned the other two issues that I had read about, and he again indicated that he double checked the Honda Site that they use for checking the Vin #'s and that it only showed the one recall for this bike with that Vin #. So, I'm going to head over and pick it up tomorrow and see what happens.

Oldshoe

Oh gawd, what a lemons...even my heavily modded Pcx hasn't had that many recalls with it's substandard parts installed...what's worse it seems it is even more reliable than a overpriced decent 'qualitish' stock standard trim scooter.

Well there was the embarrasment of broken crankcases and consequent catastrophic engine failure but we best ignore all that....

Good forum, this.
Just been on to Thunder Road and they've provided evidence that the pump has been replaced. Apparently there's a discrepancy between the public Honda recall page and the dealer one, which Honda are correcting.

That saves me a trip to the dealer...
