Replacing the air filter (2013 PCX 150)

The manual says to Inspect and/or replace at 2,500 mile intervals. At the first 2,500 miles, the filter had a dusting of black over 1/2 of the surface. It did not look filthy. I replaced it. My normal routine would be to replace it every 2,500. How often are you replacing yours? What are you looking for when you remove it?

My 2013 pcx 150 says every 10,000 miles unless it is driven in high dust and dirt areas lot.

Thanks to both of you. I just re-read the owners manual and you are correct. I don't have to worry about it for a long time. It says the spark plug should be replaced at 8,000 miles. Does that seem too soon? Car spark plugs can now go 100,000 miles.

I would check it and clean it at 8k miles, and only change it if the bike acts like it is missing a beat ever so often or seems to run rough. I have heard of others replacing theirs with the platinum one but I don't think it made enough difference to be worth it. Remember that it is just a little engine, like a lawn mower. How often do you change the plug on your lawn mower? I changed the plug on my wife's bike at 13k, but inspected it at about 8k. It is an inexpensive item and takes 5 minutes to change. Just be sure to gap it correctly.

Been changing mine around the 7.5k mark they are only cheap anyway.

Do check your air filter every 2.5k mine tends to get a bit of oil on from the combustion process

Not seen any on-line site in the UK selling the 2015 pcx 125 filter without buying an oil/sparkplug/filter/washer combo. Not enquired with the dealer but surprised you can get it for less than $5 in the US (from web sites) yet it's hard to find on-line here for a reasonable price. Perhaps the 2015's are too new to warrant stocking the new filters yet :)

I haven't finished checking all of the parts websites I use but those that I have checked have shipping costs that are close to the price of the filter, so double what you see as the advertised price online. It may turn out just as cheap to buy one from the dealer.
