Akrapovic

I have had the bike for a month now I have been looking into getting the Akrapovic exhaust, purely to increase the noise a little (as the DB killer will be fitted) and personally I am not keen on the look of the stock item...therefore more a vanity project as opposed to power gains.
For those of you whom are interested, this has been what I have been able to find out:
Currently there are 3 options:
Honda are quoting the Black Akra with DB killer and Cat for £730 plus £70 filling
or
Silver Akra with Black carbon end, DB killer and Cat for £420 from Italy (with free delivery):
or in the UK
http://www.akrapovic.com/#!/motorcycle/ ... &phaseId=1
Akrapovic will only sell the silver and the Black one is only available from the dealer
I will be getting mine changed (not for the Honda dealer fit) after the summer holiday's and will do a write up then...however just posting for those of you who are interested.

Just ordered the Black Akra from KFM Motoraeder (
www.kfm-motorraeder.de) in Germany for Euro's 655 (roughly £460) which is significantly less than what Honda are trying to get for it (£730). Comes supplied with the DB Killer and Cat...however not bothered about performance (it's only a 125), as this is purely a vanity project as I do not like the look of the OEM exhaust.

Good choice.
As a matter of fact I think the Akra (or any lighter than stock aftermarket exhaust) must be a huge improvement on the rear suspension also.
As the whole engine, driveline, exhaust combo moves together as the rear swingarm and the exhaust is the longest protruding heavy element effectively adding a high torque moving part- reducing the unsprung weight by 7kgs should significantly improve the rear suspension operation.
I'd like to ask your feedback if my theory is right or not.

I am also on the Facebook Honda Forza 125 page and another gentleman has just bought the same system and gives a good account on whether to have it with the DB killer in or out and also the Cat. I am going for the cat out (not a UK emission requirement for bikes) and the DB killer most definitely in. Pickup is supposed to be better and that is about it, however purely going for the better look.

Cool Choice, the Black, Carbon and Chrome! I think you'll really like the sound of it. If possible can you post a sideview photo of yer scoot before (with stock exhaust) and after with the Akrapovic?
Ah Shoot! I'll even ask for a video to hear the Rumble.....
Cause, Mama always said, "it can't hurt to ask"

All I can say is neat.
Did you notice any difference in the rear suspension (theory above: better handling due to to reduced unsprung weight at the back) after the installation?

No real changes, you definitely hear the change at tick over although still not very much louder than stock with the DB killer. Bought it solely to make the Forza look better not for performance, after all if I wanted that from a scooter would have bought a TMAX.
For me it's worth it but not for everyone.

Ummm. I think you did not get my point.
I was not intended to see if there is an improvement in engine power at all.
I had a theory that the reduced unsprung weight (the Akra is 7kgs lighter than the stock exaust) of the rear suspension-engine-exhaust-wheel combination should improve the ride comfort without other changes.

Still liking the two tone paint!
Hey! I just came back to this thread to see if you posted the pics and there they were! Thanks for doing that webbmeister. I agree! the new exhaust looks much better (a little fatter or should I say, wider maybe), but still a good looker on your good looking scoot! We'll never see the Forza 125 in the States,
but that's the way it goes.
Cheers and ride safely

have you tried it with the baffle out?? I must admit it looks great, akra are the best aftermarket can on the market imo.
