New appreciation for the PCX

Well, it's been a tough few weeks for vehicles in the Bash On! household. Joker racing in a parking lot smashed into one car. A day after that car got out of the shop, the other one had a whine from the transmission. Bad gear in the front differential (AWD Subaru). Well, you can't get parts for the differential, so you have to buy the whole unit. And, with a CVT transmission, you can't just buy the differential, it is sold only as a unit with the WHOLE transmission! Shame on Subaru!

Anyhow, for the first time in a long time, I've been riding the PCX for all my transportation needs. Got a new-found appreciation for it. In the 104 degree F temps today, I didn't want to use either air-cooled bike I have so liquid-cooling is a godsend, and the small windshield on the PCX gives me some cooling airflow. I can run errands with all the storage, and the heat's not too bad if I keep moving.

Glad I have it!

Yuck! I hope things get better service-wise in your house.

The PCX is a great appliance. It's no Ducati, but it'll get you from point A to point B every time! :D

I'd prefer "it's no Ducati and it'll get you...."

I have many friends who love their Subaru, but the known weak link on them is exactly what you found. Other than that they are suppose to be very dependable. Our neighbors next door to us have always had 2 of them, until a couple of months ago when he could no longer drive and they had to sell one of them.
With this heat we take out our bikes when we can handle the humidity. I can handle heat, but the humidity is a different story. Try to imagine 93 degrees Fahrenheit plus 79% humidity. It is like riding with a wet, hot blanket over your head. Considering where the pcx is made though, I guess it was made for this heat.
