i picked up the 2013 PCX 150 with 800 miles on it last week. i am curious with such a small oil reservoir and since the engine is under a more than normal load at times, does anyone change their oil sooner, i am thinking every 1000 miles or when ever it looks dark

I change every 4-6 months.....thats less than 1000 miles....everyone sees this diff, it is so damn easy to change, ill do it more often than manual says.....i run valvoline synthetic 10w-40

Manual says 5000 miles, you are just wasting the planet's resources and your own cash changing it any sooner.

Removing the oil change bolt too often, even with new crush washers seems not such a good idea.

I'm planning on 5000 miles or yearly whichever comes first.

Why - because it's silly tightening bolts too often for no good reason.

Agreed, along with your time (probably the most valuable expense of all ...)

If you're worried about it, use synthetic oil instead of conventional oil & follow the manual's recommended 5000 mile oil change interval.

Isn't the engine case made of aluminum? Unlike steel, aluminum has a finite fatigue life. The more often you R&R the drain bolt, the more potential you have to damage/stress the drain hole threads.

Use better oil, give your engine better protection over a longer drain interval, change your oil less, and save yourself time and money. 8)

Ive never had a problem Damage is much more likely by hamfisted tightening Mind you I use a vacuum pump when i can

a Fumoto or a Stahlbus oil drain valve eliminates the paranoia of the the drain bolt overuse. I will mount one, prob the Stahlbus, on my next change...I have used them on every vehicle I have owned for the last 10 years.

Does the Stahlbus interfere with the oil screen/filter?

No interference, it's quick-coupling valve that replaces the drain plug on the other side of the case.
