My 2015 PCX makes a grinding noise at startup then goes away

I'm not sure if grinding noise is the right way of putting it. The sound seems to be coming from the rear of the engine/trans and sounds like friction of some sort, the bike is on the center stand when I start it. It goes away after the engine warms up and I drive off. Is this normal? Is it the CVT that makes this noise? My bike is almost out of warranty and has only about 200 miles on it.

Try putting it on the ground to stop the rear wheel turning and start from cold again. See if the result is the same. Then go for a spirited ride where you start from a stop aggressively and ride fast. Then the next day try again. If it still makes the same noise take it to the dealer.

Some people have noise from start-off to do with the clutch/belt due to glazing or worn bearings, but the engine and drive should be almost purring if idling and not in motion. I would take it to the dealer whilst you still have warranty as that does not sound good.
