Today, suddenly, the fuel cap has become hard to screw and unscrew.
The rubber seal seems to be ok. What may have happened?

Dunno. Find something else to screw?

A bit of lubrication might be your friend or work on your wrist strength?

Use a bit of engine oil on the seal. Don't use petroleum jelly as it rots rubber, or so the guy at the clap clinic said. ;)

Isn't better silicon for rubber seals?

If rubber seals are your bag then go for it. They can't catch fish though like the real ones.....

Yes, a bit of lube on the rubber gasket might help, if that's the jam. Have you dropped or otherwise injured the cap or filler neck? The cap's bayonet flange may be bent? Pretty simple to inspect and see what's up. If you know someone with the same bike you can try their cap and see if the trouble stays with your cap or the bike.

I wouldn't. Silicon destroys o2 sensors.

Solved spraying WD40 on the rubber seals. Gasoline had hardened the seal
