Hi All: Had my PCX for a little over a week. These are the only two items I've tweak so far. Just an FYI. I purchased the OEM Honda 35L box & it's cheap & super expensive. Don't waste your time with it. The Shad SH39 cost me $75.00+ less with the backrest. I wanted the White cover but Shad was out of stock until early mid-November. They sent me the Carbon version for free. It's a promo of sorts I guess. I'll purchase the White cover later. The mirror extenders I purchased a couple of years ago from eBay for $15.00 They don't look too bad IMHO & the serve it's purpose.

Quick question. Has anymore purchased a Shad Top Case & installed the optional break light? If so, was it difficult to set up?

Birdcage? Makes me laugh my arse off!! Great cast, great humor. If it's on TV, I watch it evey time.

Alock, if I bought a topcase it would be a Shad as well. I've been looking at them lately. I have a '15 model and I also have a Honda Rear Rack installed. Would I have to purchase "Shad's case mounting plate" and to fit that to my rack? Or....is the case "by itself" a Direct Fit to my Honda Rack?
Those are the 2 questions I have before purchasing. I might consider the back pad and the lights You are now asking about. Let us wait for the pro's to respond (they are def out there!) :P

Sorry, I wasn't able to answer your question about the lighting.
Flare sent! Look up  did it fizzle out already? Nothing works like it use too, Dang! Wait...I'll sound off my Screaming MeMe Horn  That'll doit!

Whitenoise,

I am speaking from the aspect of a '16, but we are talking apples and apple here, methinks.

You don't HAVE to have the shad piece to fit one of their boxes on, but it is one of several hackjobs to get their base (included with the topbox) to fit on the Honda rack.

The smarter hackjob would be to get some longer screws to use the included clips and attach them to the Honda rack.

I drilled, but due to all the nooks and crannies in the Honda rack, I did a sub-par job (was in a rush, blah-blah-blah). With some patience, you could drill out the Honda Rack properly - min started getting some wiggles, mainly because I am an idiot with no patience (way worse than an idiot WITH patience - then I would get into politics - - hahaha, I kill me).

The Shad adapter is twice what the Honda one was (for me), so I decided to throw the dice.

In completely unrelated news, UPS informed me that I have a package that will arrive before end of day on Thursday...

Pics when I get it on,

Mike

The Shad adaptor (SKU# HOPC10ST) is $64.00 My dealer installed it & it's rock solid & very clean looking.

The Honda adaptor (SKU# 081L-K35-00) is $42.95 I would recommend the Shad rear mount myself just to avoid any hassles. But then again it's your money.

Wingscribe: Post some pics when you have it installed. BTW...What Shad case do you have?

That black / carbon box looks great on the white PCX - I'd probably just leave it that color.

Got everything swapped over last night. The Honda adapter plate is on the left. Attaching the mount from the topcase to the Shad plate (left) was very simple - only hiccup was holding the nuts and washers in place, upside down to attach the topcase mount (not pictured).

I really need a better vocabulary for these parts (adapter plate, top case mount) I am getting confused and I just did the damn thing!

EDIT: The holes in the Honda plate are part of my much-maligned hatchet job - it did not come that way...

Nice. You'll get the hang of the scooter lingo. What Shad Top Case did you score?

Sorry if mentioned, where did you get those extenders from?

You can score them from ebay here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/190878856112?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

Or if you're in a pinch any scooter/motorcycle dealer can order them for you for $10.00 more ($25.00)

Do a search on Google for Bike Master #152461

Personally I like mine.

Love the top box and am jealous!

Probably this is a stupid question,
but do you need the mirror extenders because of the size of the top box?

no... mirror extenders are used to get your "shoulders" out of the mirror image....

Very fine and thank you!

This sounds like a "tall person" problem and I am so not tall.

Yup....JGE64 is correct. I'm a bigger guy @ 6'2" 240 lbs. (keep the fat jokes coming) The extenders really help. He's got some sweet non-OEM mirrors himself. I'm fine with the eBay $15.00 upgrade. I must admit if you're a small guy the standard fittings aren't that bad. BTW...I dig my Shad SH39. It doesn't look to out of place for it's size IMHO.

Ahah... well I'm a lot shorter, being a none-too-tall gal.
I'm interested because I haven't bought my PCX yet and am trying to figure out how to get a top box on it that's big enough to keep my helmet out of the rain while it's parked. The stock Honda box is cute, but not big enough.

And my husband is not eager to drill holes in my new scooter (or to see me doing that), so I was thinking of having the dealer install one of these:
Rear Trunk Attachment Kit - Fits 2015 PCX150
product # 08L71-K35-J00 $42.95
and going from there.

Do you guys have advice about this?

as I understand it, you take off the rear plate and there is no need to drill holes in a 15......take off this plate (in black)

Sounds like you are saying that I can install that part myself, without drilling holes?
