Hello all, Now that it's winter time here in Minnesota I've been thinking ahead to next years riding season. One thing I'm trying to do is maximize my road time and minimize my down time. My biggest worry is about the tires, my 2015 has about 2700 miles on it and I'm curious how many miles people are seeing on the stock back tire?
I'm 165 pounds and usually ride around 45 mph so I would say i should be able to get a pretty decent amount of miles out of it.
On a side note I'm thinking either the pirelli diablo or michelin city grip in case anyone has any advice.

Don't know about the Devil's rubber but Mich'es are GREAT!
If anyone wants a new set of stock IRC's make me an offer I can't refuse and think about shipping cost.
USA only please

Tire life depends on what you have. Stock tires here in the US are often Dunlops, while stock tires elsewhere tend to be from IRC. I have Dunlop TT900A's on mine. Popped out to look at them just now and the rear is on track to last to at least 6000 miles. Tread wear is well within spec. You'll find that you go through 2-3 rear tires for every front tire. I might just go with Michelin next time, but the Dunlops seem grippy enough.
Do bear in mind that new tires are especially slippy for the first several miles, so use caution.
Also consider your riding style. I vaguely recall someone saying the Perellis didn't let them much more than 3k miles. Michelin city grips seem to last around 7k or more.

Of course, the perellis are supposedly super sticky, which explains why they might wet out sooner. Sticky tires on a scoot /= a bad thing.

I replaced my USA stock rear tire on the PCX around 8K. It did not look too bad, but it seemed prudent. I replaced it with a City Grip that I got from Revzilla. I tip the scales at a snick over 200 (esp with gear), and the PCX saw a few K of those miles two up, so that tire saw some (ab)use. I ride conservatively and avoid rain if possible, though, and since this is my first motorized two wheel conveyance, I don't have much to compare the ride to. I really did not notice much if any change in the ride or handling of the PCX.

Thanks for all the responses. I hope to get 7k out of my stock rear tire. It's a pretty easy choice after reading further about the pirelli and the michelin. I'm no racer so the more expensive pirelli wont do me any good. I'll go with the michelin for its long life and better price.
