Took delivery of my 2011 PCX last night and the battery cover is loose. Is this common? Just a case of bolting it back into place?

Battery cover is just held in by a clip from memory. 30 second job and that includes lifting the seat! ☺

A related battery question: what does the top of the rubber strap that holds the battery in attach to? I can't find anything in the top of the compartment the rectangular metal ring might attach to.
Thanks.

In reference to the strap holding the battery in place,
there is a lower clip that the silver ring mounts over (a lip).
>> You maybe missing that part?
The strap goes over the battery and hooks tight the same way on my (sold) 2011 and (now) 2015 model.
Must be on the 13 too.
Take a look:

jcpeden, welcome. Robbie is right. You might be missing your stock plastic push pin that holds the door. They break easily. I did it too first go around.
Does someone have a pic of that battery cover pin?
My 2015 doesn't have that. They did away with it.

It's where the other end of the strap attaches to I'm asking about, which you can't see in your picture.

Other end of the strap attaches to a similar clip at the top of the battery box. Just a hook moulded into the battery box.

Now that you said that, you made more sense (to me). Excuse my misunderstanding.
Thanks Robbie

I have a 2013 model and it has the strap as well as one of those push pins that holds the door in place. I lost my original one but my Burbman 400 used those types of clips all over the bike, so I had quite a few left over after buying some online to replace broken ones. Now that the Burgman is history, I don't need them any more but I don't throw things away that may become useful at some point.
As for that strap, I have yet to be able to get that strap to stay where it belongs, though I really doubt the battery will ever move without some major force. Getting the battery out requires me to disconnect all of the extra connections I have on the '+' and '-', and then jiggling the battery back and forth as I try to move it out inch by inch. With the door attached, and lots of stuff under my seat, the battery did not move an inch when I had my accident.

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like the clip was floating around loose in the underseat storage bin. I'll see if I can find a replacement.
