I bought a pcx 125 back in December of 2011 and now it currently has 1000 miles. Do I need to change the coolant and tranny. Also when changing the engine oil can I remove the drain plug and filter every time. Do I fill it up with 10w30 oil 800ml. I'm kinda confused when the manual say .8 drain and .9 disassembled. My last question is what are signs my scooter needs a valve adjustment. Thank you so much for your help

The scoot is five years old. Fluids will degrade through disuse over time, so I'd say, yeah, change it all. It may cost you a bit, but peace of mind is priceless. Change the oil in the crankcase, change the transmission oil, Flush and fill the coolant system, and most definitely replace the brake fluid. Check the battery as well to ensure it hasn't succumbed to the ravages of time. Also, check the tires and hoses for signs of decay (cracking, crumbling, ethanol degradation). Also empty the fuel tank entirely if it has been sitting for more than three months and get rid of the old gas. Do not use it unless you want a gummed up injector.

As for the valves, sitting for years with the valve springs compressed in the same position would lead me to recommend checking the valves. If one of those valves has been sitting open for an extended time in the same position, it could cause the spring free length to change. This could cause a catastrophic problem.

Go over it with a fine toothed comb (so to speak) and make sure everything is right before you ride it.

When I bought my used 2006 Burgman 400 I had it put on a trailer and brought to the dealer, where they changed all of the fluids, one of the tires, the battery and replaced all the parts that needed it. Valves were adjusted as well, and he drained and replaced the gas in the tank. I would not ride it until the dealer went over the entire bike. (I bought it used but the owner only had 2 miles on it, and he wasn't the one who put that on it. It was the manufacturer. It had been sitting in the barn for all those years. I bought it from him in 2012.)
Definitely go over the bike as though it had bad everything in it. Even the tires could be rotting out from under it. Look for cracks in the sides.
