Ouch

Well my week has ended a bit too quickly and reduced me to the use of one arm for a couple of weeks.
I pulled my shoulder lifting my son on Monday night and felt something click as I straightened my arm

. Ended up at Casualty on Tuesday morning as I couldn't use my arm properly.
Doc says I've torn my Trapezius and Levator muscles, frayed a ligament and aggravated the Brachial Plexus nerves in my left arm, he also thinks my left shoulder dislocated and relocated - hence the "click".
So now I have numb fingers, aching pain the length of my arm and a frozen shoulder.
He advised no riding for 3 weeks

Yowch! That sucks! Hope you get well soon.
Do you have to keep it in a sling?

I hope you are feeling better and back on your bike soon! In the meantime, definitely make sure that you take it easy and do all you can to heal properly.

Thanks guys,
They said a sling would be pointless - but I have been given home physio to do starting in a few days time once it settles down a bit.
10 different exercises to do every 6 hours, rotating, shrugging etc.
Bad bits:
It can take up to 6 weeks to properly settle down, and the numbness make take even longer.
I have to take time off from work when I have loads to do and I can't do any of my hobbies while I'm recovering

When i read the title i thought youd come off your PCX. Good to see thats not the case. People heal, bikes dont unless you throw money at it

Get well soon!

Well,
this geordie "drama queen"

now has a referral to see a specialist for a herniated disc in my neck - estimated recovery (without any surgery - a further 4 to 6 weeks) I have to have a scan and x ray on my neck to see exactly whats knackered but at the moment it's not looking rosy for me being on 2 wheels any time before Christmas!

How'd you herniate your disc?
Herniated discs are terrible -- my mother herniated hers and it hasn't been the same for her since. The doc said hers needed surgery, but she's too scared to get it. I'm hoping yours isn't as bad, and you can recover on your own.
Hope you feel better. It sucks that this happened right after hurting your shoulder.

Well some good news for once.
A couple of physio and manipulation sessions at the clinic I've been referred to and my neck, shoulder and arm are healing quickly. I've been given physio to do at home and a traction brace for my neck at night and it's working quite well.
I've even been allowed back to work and had a little bit of time in the last few days to sort out my little winter scooter.
I am officially a much happier bunny

Glad to hear you're doing better. Be sure to keep taking it easy, it eill be really easy to reherniate that disc for another few months.
Have you managed to get any riding in?
