Hi

I have owned my pcx125 for nearly 12 months. Bought 2nd hand from a Honda dealer.

Couple of weeks ago speedometer acting erratically jumping from 40 to 60 when not changing speed at all. All this when raining

Weather dries up and all working fine.

Few days ago again when wet speedo and odometer and idle stop all stopped working but this time no coming back whatever the weather.

Checked speedo sensor and looks ok.

Any ideas

Thanks in advance

I'd be checking all the electrical plugs first. There's a load of a them if you take the screen and the black cover under it off. Also check the connection at the speed sensor for water ingress. It might be a bit of wiring chaffed through or a bad earth contact..

You might have to take the plastics off to gain access to the instrument wiring to check it.

The idle stop won't work without a speed signal as it won't know when the bike is stationary.

Your looking for corroded or wet connector plugs. To test the speedo, start the bike up on the centre stand then give it a rev. If you can't find anything obvious you might need to get your bike garage to have a look.

When I turn the bike on the speedo DOES flick round to 100 then back to 0 so there is power

Any more ideas from this

I'd check chassis grounds.
Failing more than circuitry at the same time is usually a ground problem especially if the issue has started to act up in rain.
Search for my posts- i recently started a thread to warn about such a potential issue.
Also please fill in your location, year and color of your scoot.
The vintage information could be hany to give further advise (eg. The LED models have an additional connector set to separate fhe engine from the chassis which could be also problematic - but the 2011 model cables are directly connected to the ECU.)

I had the same issue on my 2013 it turned out to be the wire that goes to the speed sensor. Try removing the air box and testing the wire running underneath it.

Taken the air box off and can't see anything wrong :(
