Nope.. that would be a clutch bike. You are free wheeling under 9mph and engine braking over 9 ONLY if the motor is running. So no you can't push start a CVT
now wait for me to be corrected please

The great thing is that it is co.pletely stock honda stuff from an another global engine based 100 or 110cc asia pacific model. I remember seeing many of those running around in Indonesia and they cost less than half of the PCX so they dont even have an electric start, not to mention start stop sytem or cbs.
Cheap and unbreakable like a hockey puck.

Ask BPT how much the whole stuff would cost to be sent from Vietnam. I'd be _very_ surprised if it would be more than 50 bucks plus shipping.

When you start having problems, cheaper to buy a spare battery and see if it fixes the problem. Seems to be one of those 'Dragons Den' inventions, fixes a problem that does not really need fixing.

I haven't had any problems since it is new. I know things happen but keeping my fingers crossed for no problems. I know you cannot push start an automatic transmission car but I didn't know if you were to coast down a hill, for instance if the variator would catch the belt to turn the engine.
My old battery on my Metropolitan was 7 years old when it finally gave up the ghost. After about 4 years I started using a battery tender Jr. and nursed it another 3 years. I wasn't afraid of getting stranded since I had the kick start feature.
Maybe something Honda could add as a new feature??? Or not.

I've push started an automatic car before (Hyaundai Sonata 3L V6).
I had it in 1st gear and ran as fast as I could behind it and low and behold it started.

The clutch is centrifugal, it is the revolution of the engine which throws the clutch shoes out onto the clutch drum to take up the drive.
Unless the engine is rotating the clutch cannot be engaged and the variator is not rotating and neither is the drive belt.
The kickstarter kit is interesting, I would like to see it start a PCX with a completely dead battery or with the battery removed.

With the battery removed it would not work, as the pcx has coil ignition, not a magneto type.
Otherwise it works great, as it is a honda oem solution for a low cost kickstart engine based on the pcx global engine.
I have used it in Indonesa as I wrote earlier.

Did you use it on a PCX or a different scooter?

Coil ignition can be kickstarted without a battery, it was the fuel injection I was wondering about.
Honda does make fuel injected scooters which can be kickstarted, but is the PCX one of them...?

I have used it on a click. It has essentially the same engine like the PCX has.
