Can't find my kickstart.....

Hi Guys,

Weather has turned for the worse here in the UK. Been using my car recently, lugging bits to work & back for a car engine rebuild, bike has sat for a week. Went to start it last night.....no chance. A couple of weak splutters but not enough oomph to spin it over.

Proper Yuasa battery too, OE, three years old. They seem to be around £60 here in the UK, £20 a year seems excessive to me so I've gone for an ebay cheapie at £20, I'll let you know how I get on.

Just remembered how much I liked bikes with carbs & kickstarts!

Haven't kick started a motorbike since Marlon Brando stared in Rebel without a cause.

Don't you have a Battery Tender? If you are not going to use it for a while consider getting one. Also, you can jump start the bike from your car if you do not start the car while doing it. Once it is started, ride it for a while to see if the battery will hold a charge. Take it around the block a few times, but don't turn it off until you are back at your house. That way, if it doesn't hold the charge you won't have to push it.
Depending on the weather and other factors, a battery can die after 3 years, just fyi.
