Obviously you are a farang (foreigner) like me ..... your mirrors are in position and not folded in. ;)

Living off Sukhumvit, I never have traffic that light.

Side mirrors are very useful here. I won't survive a day without proper functioning ones, that's why I'm keeping the stock mirrors.
I'm just lucky to work at the outskirt of the city where heavy traffic is usually not a problem.

Amazingly empty roads. Not what I expected for Thailand.

Your video speaks volumes to the street and highway awareness of motorbikes in your country. I would think the greatest danger to life and limb for a biker is the tourist. In that first few seconds of your video when you pass the white vehicle I never would have trusted that a passenger wouldn't have trust open the door and dashed off into a retail store. The way the other bikers pick the side of a lane on the expressway and stay there, knowing there are faster bikes in the same lane. This kind of awareness is not known to Chicago city traffic flow between car and bike or even bike on bike drivers.

I wouldn't want you people to think you could rent a scoot and be safe riding like that here, you'd need an ambulance in five minutes. I think it's too late for American's to embrace lane sharing and get any kind of mutual trust with cab drivers and their unpredictable patrons in my City. It's a beautiful thing to see though... I do love it!

You caught me being reckless in there. LOL

But most cars are usually aware of bikes passing them in both sides. Lane splitting is very common here, even in tight traffic.. With occasional side mirror mishaps.

I have an American friend who curses a lot when driving here because of the way Thai people observe traffic rules. It's the wild wild west of driving, anything goes...

Took one of those genetic tests and found out a big part of me originates from Siberia- Lapland
no wonder why I park my bike and drink beer when winter arrives
it looks warm there though.

I hope the guy in the left lane on the delivery bike didn't run over it.
