I have 12k km on the original tires and they look fine. How much mileage did you get out of the original tires?

A buddy of mine went for bigger Michelin tires when he replaced his. He said he couldn't tell any difference. He recommended sticking with the OEM tires at the dealer.

You would have to do the conversion but in miles I got around 7,000 miles on my rear tire and just about double that for my front tire. It will depend on a lot of factors though. Tire pressure is a big thing, as well as cornering speed, takeoff speed from lights, stopping, the weight carried on the bike, and the condition of the roads.
