Just fitted some heated grips today, straight feed to the battery so no nasty splicing or cutting into the wiring loom and now the little devil wont start!
Turns on, lights up on dash and needle spins but not a squeak from the starter....
Obviously had the battery disconnected to do the job and tested the grips before connecting everything back but surely that wouldnt have drained the battery?
Got it sitting on trickle charge now but i find the complete lack of it turning over a tad odd?
I havent missed some bizzare sequence of disconnecting and connecting the battery have i?

Theres just zilch going to the starter motor.

It might just need a charge but why now?
The next two on my obvious list, before I got the multimeter out, would be
1. to hold down the seat interlock
2. disconnect the heated grips

Hey Jasper, welcome to the forums.
It's silly, but is the kill switch disconnected or in the off mode?
I'd check with your multimeter to see if the stator is getting any current. Disconnecting the battery then reconnecting it shouldn't prevent the bike from starting.

Right handgrip, the orange switch. Make sure it's in running mode, not off mode.

We have a kill switch
You have an idle stop switch

Ah, how I wish we got idle stop here in the US. Those extra couple MPGs would have saved me almost $4 in gas over the mileage I've put on it now...

Have a look at the fuses in case you have blown one of them. Might be something as simple as that. There is a wiring diagram in the how to section of this forum to help.

jasper said he checked the fuses. This is interesting. Ignition switch? Will it be covered under warranty? I'm curious

Theres a fuse box under the seat next to the battery with a row of 5 or 6 fuses. They were all ok.
Theres not more tucked away is there?
