About to buy a 2015 PCX 150.

So, I am about to aquire a 2015 PCX150. I was wondering what I should expect top speed wise realistically. The dealer im buying from said the one he sold yo his friend would do in the 70s and up to 80. It is an older model. I seem to see the 2015 only doing 65.which is true and if the second is true, how do I increase the top end without messing up the bike?

Thanks in advance.

I get 60mph at the very best from the 125cc variant. Probably another 5mph on top for the 150cc. Cannot see speeds of 80mph unless there has been some changes to the bike.

Seems about right. Thanks. Any safe mods to make to it?

I have a 2015 with new 13 g sliders and a new variator and I can get into the mid 70s. But getting it to go fast is not the problem. Problem is when you're up at that speed, the bike feels incredibly light and hunts around, it really is just not made to go that fast. I wouldn't push it that fast. If you want comfortable 80 speed, it's going to take a Forza.

You may get 70 going down a long hill.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I may go to a Forza later. That's my goal anyway. I was just curious. 65 Is fine. 70 would be neat but I was mostly just curious what the actual potential was of the bike.

It's going to suck getting rid of my Zuma 50 I love it, but I can't wait to have my PCX.

I've got a Genuine Roughhouse. . .basically same thing as a Zuma 2-stroke 50. . .Minarelli (long case) engine style. I'm still thinking about keeping it when I get a PCX. . .trading it in or selling it would be tough for me as well. The thing runs like a beast for what it is. . .

A pcx 150 with mods done to the variator, drive face and rollers can do mid 70s, but a new 150 with no mods could not reach 65 mph...maybe 64 if you are not too heavy and are not going up a hill. The ideal for a pcx is 45 to 55 mph. I have one that will do mid 70s and one that would probably top out a 64 mph, but it would get there really quickly because of my mods. It is also my understanding that the newest pcx has different gearing than my 2013, which will reduce their top ends well.

Mines actually a 2016 50f. But yeah, with every mile I put on it I get more attached. Not to mention my fiance helped me pick it out and bought it for me as a Christmas present haha. It just runs so great and is so impressive for the fact that it's a little 50. Not to mention you just gotta love the look with those big bug eyes headlights and off road looking tires.

Thanks for the info. To be honest, of it hits 60 up be happy, I live 15 Minutes outside of Asheville NC and can get there on main roads that don't go above 55. Just a bit too much for my Zuma. I think I have made the perfect choice of a new bike based on what you guys are saying.

This may sound odd, but in my country the fastest speed limit I know is 100kph (62mph), and most roads are 65kph (40mph). Anyways, I remember one time I was on one of the 100kph roads, in the fast lane, cars approaching behind me, so I sped up trying to keep the distance comfortable before trying to change to the less fast lane. And before I realised it, I sped past 110kph (68mph)! My PCX150 is stock from Thailand except for windshield and 30L topbox.

I'm in Hawaii and took it on the freeway once, very short ride. After 50 mph, I felt I was being blown around by the wind gusts here. Very scary so I no longer drive on the freeways.

My stock 2015 PCX 150 would hit the rev limiter at 63 mph. It would then bounce back & forth between 62 mph & 63 mph as it kept hitting the limiter.

I just spent a week in Vegas for basketball tournament, my 2015 PCX 150 had been asleep for 3 months and I had know problem getting to 60 mph. I'm 6'2" and 215 lbs. Here's my issue with telling you my top speed, just how accurate are the speedometer readings on any bike. I was clocked with radar at 45 mph, yet my speedometer was reading a bit over 50. On another ride, indicated 55 and radar showed me at 49.

Bottom line for me, Vegas has a 45 posted speed limit for every major street. 3 and 4 lanes in each direction and I had know problems keeping up and passing traffic. And I know they weren't going the speed limit most of the time. :P
