I might try this Pro Honda product, seems like the price is right for the quantity you get. The true test of it's dust and grit resistance properties claim will be a white rear rim. We shall see

Honda makes good products. It's a highly competitive aftermarket though and there is plenty to choose from. Sometimes you have to get what's on the shelves at your local retailer. . .

It gets into hard-to-reach areas where road grit may collect. Depending upon the situation more than one application may be required. Read the instructions. . .

That being said I still do the usual wax and polish on my two-wheeled machines "old school".

I continue to have great results using Mother's California Gold Brazilian Carnauba Cleaner Wax http://www.motherscaliforniagold.com/in ... MLKrRjf.97 (if you want non-abrasive use the "Step-3" version)

Everybody has their own favorites but I gotta say I've been using these products for years and can't complain.

homie, I use Honda's cleaner/polish now and then on my Ridge truck (recommended of course by Honda) and just once on the scoot. I like it.

But, most times I reach for the Protect All (years of use = habit). I really like this stuff. Use it on my scoot, motorcycles, truck, bicycles, plastics, metals, everything (but tires, saddle, well,....you know).

I also have me a Full can of Plexus. Not used yet. It got lost among All the Other Cleaning Stuff I stock. Soon as the Weather gets warmer I'll be busy straightening out the garage and tossng bits. Anywho, this Plexus does get rave reviews among biker's.

Follow up on Honda Pro Cleaner.

It will not remove soot off white rims no matter how you soak or apply it boooooooo
Pro Cleaner will not have enough kick for my rims but still might be good on plastic, chrome, rubber as a detailer only.

Correct....I used to buy this stuff by the case of 12 to supply a marine yard I worked for. It says CLEANER but actually it's a spray wax. Works great to quickly shine up plastic, paint and FG, but no way will it decontaminate wheels. For that I'd use a spray on wheel cleaner by meguires or sonax. Follow with a spray silicon coating like Carpro hydro2. Then the wheels should hose off clean for 6 months or so.

Yep, not wanting to breakout in full wash, rinse, wax today after a few miles (NOT months) of rim soot I just used my old standby... mineral spirits. Makes quick work of it, then I put the Pro Honda product on to see if it will assists (as advertised) to stay clean longer. I have my doubts

The real issue is my center mount exhaust rather than the more typical side mount design makes for a dirty rear rim

You Certainly know your detailing products Glen, the Carpo interests me, can I get it locally, would you have a link?

I'll give you some the next time we meet up… I got plenty ......a small bottle is diluted 3:1......more than enough for a years worth for like 15 bucks @ auto geek
