For those who have modded their seat hump

I will be getting a local upholsterer to modify my seat hump. I was just wondering for those who have had this done if it's necessary to add in any foam filling etc to the space or is it ok to just recover and good to go?

I haven't taken it apart so dont know what to expect yet.

Thanks

Trev

The only real problem I have with the seat is the accumulation of water after even a small amount of rain. I'm thinking this problem may be solved once I buy my Thermoscud cover. I do like the PowerbyPCX replacement seats though.

If you just remove it, there will be holes.

If you remove and recover, there is plastic backing behind where the hump was that will have to be cut out and have foam added over it, otherwise you'll be sitting on plastic.

I like Taz's solution best. Here's the post I'm referencing: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t ... omy#p10241. The plastic piece below is the backing that is uncomfortable, and the piece filling the hole is the backing from the original hump.

Here is my seat after the humpectomy:

Only thing I wish is maybe 1/2 inch more padding angled to reduce the down slope towards the handle bars as I now sit where hump was as I am 6' 3.5".

The other forum has gone to the spam dogs as no longer moderated but there are still 2 good old threads on humpectomies:
