What service manual say about first 1000 km service? Changing oil is obvious. What about valve check and loose screws check? Do you have any walking through instruction from service manual?

According to Honda Poland warranty conditions not. I just have to obey technical rules which are not enclosed in warranty. Basically if I follow service procedure and can prove it they shouldn't refuse warranty. I'm not sure yet. I wrote email, but didn't receive official answer from them yet.

My problem is I have to drive 400 km to nearest authorised Honda workshop. Driving 400 every 4000 for basic oil change sounds like overkill for me. So why not try to service myself?

I had a quick read through the warranty booklet,I don't think it said anywhere that the bike/scooter has to be serviced at a franchised Honda dealer.
If you have to,then I may as well start using the car again,because a service every 2500 miles will be very expensive if done by Honda

In the UK it has to be done by a VAT registered business to the published schedule using Honda approved parts.
The warranty isn't worth diddly squat anyway, all claims are at the discretion of Honda.

Badly corroded fork stanchions.

Did your fork seals go bad?

Should have washed your bike more.

In the UK they lather the roads with salt from November to April from the first sign of frost. It trashes motorbikes although car manufacturers have got the measure of it

Having said that I doesn't seem to be happening this year

Not yet, the swept area remains OK for now.
Ultimately the best cure is to get them done with hard chrome but that would cost more than new ones.

Bike was bought for riding not for washing.
Doubt it would have made much difference, it gets filthy pretty much every single day in the winter and lives outside close to the sea.
The next one will be getting fork gaiters fitted.

So you saying even if you go to authorised dealer and do everything by the book your warranty is not working?
I had once bought a new Peugeot car and have almost no problem with warranty. They replaced most of what was bad.
Almost, because they sucked, ordered wrong parts, wasted my time and didn't fixed some minor problems.

Yes and no, under UK consumer law the vehicle must be serviced by a business which is registered for Value Added Tax.
Even if the servicing is carried out to the required schedule usint the correct materials, the manufacturer may still turn down warranty claims.
