my pcx is now done 2000miles and i have noticed when speed drops from 30ish down to 10mph
i sometimes get a rattling noise from around drive belt casing , i think it may be the rollers as load comes off.
anyone got any noise from this area on rolling to a stop ?
as i only got 9 months left on warranty , want to catch any problems sooner than later....
Ha!! It's about time someone in this forum had this issue!!! Makes me feel better. I asked about "noise coming to a stop" two months ago and no one really knew. However, watching a lot of variator replacement or mod videos I heard the same noise. it's scary because in a car this sounds like a main bearing or rod knock. scary shit!!! with the pcx's it's a normal occurrence of the sliders as they lose the "sticking" ability of centrifugal force and vibrate as they are freed at low rpm,s. It's just too bad that we as consumers are not told these things. After much stress and questioning figure it out ourselves. I am not crazy about variators to begin with. in so many ways the old simple chain and sprocket is is superior.

So if it's a sliders issue, does it happens with Dr Pulley's sliders too? I think they should be more stable because of its design....

But the variator, belt and rear pulley are the gearbox
The final drive gears do the job of the chain and sprockets.
Chain and sprocket final drives on road bikes are an abomination. I despise them.
Shaft drive is far superior.
