Ordered YSS shocks G series from bikerbitz. Came with 90-120kg springs. The spring characteristics are 46-17-25-170. Not what I was expecting. Thought I'd ordered 70-90kg model. Was also expecting compression and rebound adjustments. Don't see anything like that on this model--not too concerned about that. On a good day I'm under 86kg. Although I'm probably 5-10kg heavier with all my gear. Bike weight is probably close to advertised.

Somewhere online I put in my weight info and it calculated .7kg/mm for the total combined weight of me and the scooter. What does this number mean?

Is this the right spring for me?

I guess the big question is how will this compare to the OE shock and spring?

Scooter is going in the shop for some engine repair (bad bearings) soon so I may not install until after that.

How good is the YSS G series compared to the stock absorbers? Is it adjustable?

I have those same G series on my US 2018. Only preload adjustment as I recall, but there was a night and day difference in the ride quality and I no longer bottom out on small road imperfections.

I put the XL's with the piggy back res on my 2013, and with the pre-load backed all the way off, and I mean all the way, at my weight of 180lbs dressed the ride quality is night and day different. There is no compression or rebound damping adjustment, nor should there be for the price. The increased quality of the rear suspension unfortunately highlights how woefully inadequate the front dampers perform.

Thank you for sharing. After more than 1,000 km, I feel the need to upgrade the front and rear suspension setup. Anyone fitted Ohlins?

Are the fronts upgrade-able?

Yes, I have seen some packages for the front suspension from YSS and Ohlins

Ohlins are quite expensive, and putting them on a PCX is overkill. I am pretty sure that before you spend $600 on Ohlins, you can definitely find something else that will work for you.

If I recall correctly the 2018 model had changes made that precluded previous versions of shocks from fitting it. If you have a 2018 model, you may find that contacting YSS will give you an answer.

It looks like none of the remote reservoir designs are claimed to fit any more. Seems odd that they would discontinue the G series, or that the shocks that so many of us put on no longer allegedly fit. anybody have any ideas?
