Second ride in my new 2016

It’s around 5:30am, just got off work (riding home on my Elite) and thinking about my new pcx on my ride home. Bought it on Friday and rode it home just before having to go to work (top speed on my way home was 54mph due to lots of traffic). I’m still riding my elite to work because it’s all set up with the windscreen and top case.
So I get home and switch out to my pcx and decide to try and top it out on a short stretch where the speed limit is 50. I hit 55 going there and was gonna try and top out on my way back because there’s hardly anyone out this early. Well just as I’m about to punch it I see a cop driving next to me on a parallel street! I see him pulling out behind me. So its nice when the road is almost empty, but it sucks when it’s only you and the cops. Oh well, I’m glad I saw him before trying to top out. It would be extra lame to get a ticket on your second ride. I’ll drive a little farther where the speed limit goes to 60 and see how fast this can go. I can’t wait to get my windscreen put on, its freakin cold without one!
It sounds like most people top out around 63-64 on a stock pcx.

I’m a new 2016 PCX rider as well. I’ve topped out at 60ish. On a long straight I could only get it a hair past 60, but it was slightly uphill.

Look into the NCY variator kit. Easy to change with basic shop tools, will put you in the 70's on top end, and more off the line grunt. Lots written here.....

Man I love scooters, they’re so practical for where I live. I wish I got one when I first started working where I’m at now (thousands of people have to pay btwn $6-8 parking everyday where I work). Not if you ride a motorcycle/scooter you can park for free! My Elite and now my pcx have been my best purchases that I can remember.
I’ve read some posts on the variator kits, they seems to work well with only positive results. I need to get a top case first and just enjoy the extra power (especially on the hills) from my new scoot. I’m surprised I’ve been able to convince my wife to let me spend all this $$ on my scooters and gear.
I’m sure after I research and learn more about the pcx I’ll upgrade it and modify it to how I want it. So far I’m super happy with it.
