GFM or KVB

Hello everyone,
I've been looking at ordering some OEM parts, and I'm noticing some parts which have two model numbers, one with GFM in it and the other with KVB in it. For example, the part labelled (2) here -
https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/honda- ... 17/1/15783 has two numbers.
Any idea what's the difference between them, and which one do I need? I have a 2015 PCX 125 - WW125EX2F
Thanks!

I can not answer for certain but I can say that Honda had some problems with assembly number 8, especially #18 and #19. I believe that they replaced the supplier so they had to give it a different center set of letters. I am sure the same applies to #2. Honda often has multiple vendors for important parts. I would think that either part number would be valid.

The part you linked to only has one number, 22350-GFM-900 (22350GFM900 is the same but without the dashes)
The three letters are usually the code for the model of motorcycle the part was first made for.

Thanks for the info!

I'm not so sure about this because in all the supplier websites I can see that the KVB model costs a couple of bucks more than the GFM ones!

In the link on my original post, you can see 22350-KVB-900 just below the 22350-GFM-900. But thanks for the info regarding the code! Combined with the price difference, this leads me to believe that the KVB model is an 'upgrade' of the possibly stock 'GFM' model?

I think you may find some clarification by looking at part #11.
Notice that 23226GFM900 replaces 23226 KVB 900
I worked for a major defense contractor, and one of the problems we had was how to track bad manufacturers of our smaller parts. We ended up doing something similar to the way these parts are numbered. We used the middle letters to designate the sub-contractor. If we made the part ourselves, there were no middle letters, or we used numbers to represent the department that was responsible.

Aha, I now see there's two listings for part 2, I see where the confusion lies now.

This page explains how Honda's motorcycle parts numbering system works:
