Ride is not Smooth - Noisy

Post by mrmharoon »

Hello,
I bought a used 2015 Honda PCX150 with a mileage of 8000km 2months ago. Recently, I got one of my friends' same PCX in my hands and I used to ride it. During the ride, I felt a very very smooth ride than my one. Also, It is less noisy.
Afterwards, I felt that when accelerating my bike from 0km/h it vibrates a little. My PCX is likely taking too much effort.
What has happened? How do I can make my bike to run smoother? Please Help?
Is this sounds like the previous owner has done any repairs in the engine?

i'll start by letting someone check the drive parts.

Could be a worn belt, variator plates, rollers, clutch shoes..
Everything looks better from the inside of a motorcycle helmet...

Hi , my knowledge is limited, however my best guess would be in the final drive area, there are vids that show how to remove the belt , the whole area should be oil and grease free. If contaminated the slippage would feel like a shuddering.

My 2017 PCX went through a month of significant vibration from 0km/h-5km/h. I could feel it right through to the handlebars. I didn't manage to get it back to the shop before it had stopped. I mentioned it at the last service when I dropped it off, but don't think the Honda dealership stripped it down to check it.

Sounds like the off idle stutter that I had a few months ago, took off the clutch Bell, and sanded down the clutch shoes and bell, all is well now. I posted fix in diy section...

I have limited knowledge on PCX. Bought it a month ago. Based on my readings, vibrations and not smooth ride is caused by dirty CVT parts. Over time, dust is accumulated inside the variator. May be time to get them cleaned.
