One ride in 5 weeks (dark, fog - but just beat the rain) - then 14 degrees Fahrenheit with 23 mph winds the next day.

Oh yes!

Even with our trees being totally confused by our winter weather here, it is still winter here. We may not have snow here, but it is still winter in other ways. It rains a lot. It is windy with lower temps to go with it. I'm not sure if the sun even wants to shine here during that time, but it begrudgingly makes an appearance anyway.

I heard 2018 was the 4th warmest year on record. Blame it on palm oil slash and burn tree farming.

I've ridden to this beach on bike trips before . . . but not this day . . . Sandy Neck, Cape Cod. You can take 4WD and RV vehicles on it and explore the coast line.

Years ago the parking lot used to go out further but beach erosion over the years has taken it's toll. You can see big chunks of black top laying on the sand . . ..

The only saving grace to living here is the amount of Latinos who have moved here bringing great taco trucks and restaurants with them.

I constantly ( daily) think of leaving this overpopulated, dirty, mess of a city for somewhere more livable.

Now I am thinking El Paso region would be my ideal. Only 3 months of serious hot weather and I like the variety since across the border is a big Mexican city I can safely go to during the day. I first thought of Albuquerque but its too cold in winter. No one past 50 yo who has worked hard in life should ever have to endure cold weather imo. Life is too short.

And yes, I have been to El Paso and can deal with no trees and how industrial looking the city is.

I watched a television show recently that gave praises to Houston, TX making a comeback. Maybe check that out as well . . ..

Austin has become almost too popular from what I've heard.

Every single place has some advantages and disadvantages. If you think that one place has all of the answers then you are fooling yourself. I have lived in West Texas. I have gone to El Paso. I can think of at least 100 better places to live. Still, if that is your choice then go for it. You may find out too late what others have known for quite some time.

Frankly, I find Atlanta much better than any other place I have lived. Yes, it has a winter, of sorts. A day of snow isn't that bad. Rain though is another matter. It actually rains here more per year than Seattle.

You don't have a voice. You are still in hibernation.
However, once you come out for Spring you will be correct.
Lots more choices out there.

Been to Connecticut a couple of times. Every time my Mustang was stolen - the police found it in Hartford....and the same tow yard ripped me for hundreds each time!

Life is cruel. I hate the feeling of being ripped off. Had a motorcycle and boat stolen on me years ago. Never forgot them but realized I must get on with another day . . . and many more . . ..

I used to do the Mohawk Trail, Rt. 2. a lot on my Suzuki and KLR from Greenfield up to Mt. Greylock. But occasionally stopped at Yankee Candle with the family and one time visited "Magic Wings". . . not too far from Amherst.

My youngest daughter was fascinated with the place. . .. Now horses are her life.
